London Bridgis

At our half way mark we got a break. We had a twelve hour layover in London and we took a train to downtown London.
We found a map of the tube (the subway system in London) and got busy. We walked through Hyde Park,
saw Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guards,
then to London Tower Bridge. We also saw the houses of parliament, Westminster abbey, and Big Ben. The sights were great and the walking got us tired enough to sleep on the next plane ride.
At Buckingham Palace we met a nice little Englishman who told us all about the English military including old stories whilst he was in the military. We ate at ye olde McDonalds and had a barbeque pork sandwich (no Jim, not the Mc-rib, it wasn’t near as good) and headed back to the airport.
The weather was of course overcast and cold with a little rain.
Big Ben (actually the 14 TON bell inside, not the clock tower - a fun fact from our English mate)
